In awe of my King, Messiah, and God: Jesus Christ

This long awaited King
who rules the heavenly hosts,
breathed life into this world
He arrived as The Messiah
Carrying the greatest news for men
Like the prophets foretold
But who would have thought
This King who is The Messiah
chose to be man in flesh

Rightful King to His people
Yet chose to die by their hands
Deserving to be crowned with riches
Yet chose to be crowned with thorns
All worthy to be praised and worshiped
Yet chose to be mocked and spitted on.
All these for love and justice to be satisfied.
And in His sacrifice, we now have reconciliation with God.

Indeed who would have thought that a perfect sinless Being
will want to search for such dirty sinners like you and me.

In His death, we have found Life

I’ve lived my life trying to pile up the choices.
Must I work for all the money I can possess?
Should I seek for myself until my life is a success?
Can I find fulfillment in loving more than two fiances?

No! Woe to all of it! For I have died to all these temporary pleasures.
Money has no power over His sweet and loving Word.
Glory has nothing to do with my identity for I am under His sword.
Women are no longer an instrument for they also belong to our Lord.

It is by dying to ourselves that we will find Life.
It is when greed, pride, and lust are conquered because of His stripes.
It is when He finally comes in for our tears to be wiped
and finally tell us:
Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master!“.

An Epistle to the Lost

Greetings, this letter is from Peter Paul, a bond-servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. I have been impressed by the Spirit of God to urge those who have fallen away from the faith. May God the Father and His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, give you strength, endurance, and perseverance.

To my dearest brothers and sisters in Christ who have ceased fighting the fight, stopped running the race, and lost the faith: I have always been praying for all of you. I may not understand the whole situation of why you have turned your back from Him and have strayed away from His Word but I am here to tell you that the Lord is asking you to go back so you may know that His love and holiness is the only way for your lives to have the true purpose we all seek. As the Lord Jesus have said:

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

My brothers and sisters, until when will you let the thief steal the truth from you? Has he fooled a lot of you to think that happiness and peace is found in this world? Let the devil be rebuked in the name of the Lord Jesus as I tell you these: No such thing in this world will give you the life you seek. You won’t find the life you’re seeking from the ones who give you love– as they themselves, along with us, are flawed by the iniquity caused by satan. Nor can you find it from the places you travel to– as those are only self-seeking experiences to know more about one’s self not knowing that the purpose of life is to know one’s identity in the Lord Jesus and to spread the true love He has provided through His sacrifice.

I encourage you my brethren that you stop letting satan fool you by leading you to the paradox of temporary self-satisfaction as they do not bring you eternal life nor does it give long-lasting fulfillment. I beseech you that you do not wait until the Lord Jesus spits you out of His mouth. For He knows whether you are hot or cold and you yourselves know that you are neither of the two, for you have become lukewarm. And you all know from the Scriptures that the Lord Jesus vomits out lukewarm faith for He considers it useless. Though the Lord is a loving God, consider that He is also Holy and He does not let His people remain unchanged. The Lord your God will change you for your own good because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father disciplines the son he delights in. As the scriptures say:

“Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.”

The Lord Himself is our Father who corrects us despite our stubbornness. He will continue to pursue you until you yourselves are convicted that you have sinned against Him and need to go back to Him. I plead you to again take to heart the Good News you have first heard when you accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior:

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God”
Everyone, including you and me, deserves eternal damnation but because of the graciousness of the Father:
“For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit.”
I beg you that you go back, not for my sake rather for your own sake. As He is the Judge who will return for us and I beg you that you repent of your sins and start living for the Savior who has covered you by His blood. Do not take this lightly as I am very concerned for your souls. The Lord knows how tired you are by your endless search for filling the void in your hearts with the lies of the thief. Turn away from the thief and return to the love of your Savior and accept that apart from Him, you can do nothing. Your good works can never save you! So I ask of you to accept the Lord Jesus by faith alone as your only Savior. Lastly, test yourselves if you are truly in the faith:

“The Lord Jesus is coming back for you!”

If this scares you, repent and accept the gospel. If this enlightens you, press on towards maturity that the Holy Spirit provides. With these, I end my epistle and may you take this question with you:

“Am I sure that I am going to heaven?”

May the Lord be with your Spirit and may His grace be with all of you.

Author’s Note: The epistle may have spoken to you but what bothered me most is that this epistle spoke so strongly to me. I have become lukewarm in my walk with the Lord Jesus and I have lost my way without me even knowing it. Yet I still praise God because the blessing itself is seen in this wonderful conviction knowing that the Lord disciplines those He loves and I know that I have full confidence that I am one of those He loves, are you one of those He love as well?

Phone Message Breakup

He never got the chance to plead when she decided to end it.
Many ways a lady could’ve ended it but she chose to do it by a phone message.
He never got the chance to tell her that he won’t give up.
Many ways a lady could’ve ended it but she chose to do it by a phone message.
He never got the chance to beg her for another chance.
Many ways a lady could’ve ended it but she chose to do it by a phone message.
He never got the chance to say he is still madly in love with her.
Many ways a lady could’ve ended it but she chose to do it by a phone message.
He never got the chance to make her read his love letters begging her to fight.
Many ways a lady could’ve ended it but she chose to do it by a phone message.
He never got the chance to see her eye to eye and tell her “I love you, goodbye”.
Many ways a lady could’ve ended it but she chose to do it by a phone message.
He never got the peace he desired when it all kept ringing in his head:
Many ways she could’ve ended it but this lady chose to do it by a phone message!
He was in pain and agony, its as if a sharp nail slowly pierced his heart.
Many ways a lady could’ve ended it but she chose to do it by a phone message.
He never got the chance to atone for all the wrong he’s done to her.
Many ways a lady could’ve ended it but she chose to do it by a phone message.
On the other hand, he always had the chance to ask a god to have her back.
Many ways a lady could’ve ended it but she chose to do it by a phone message.

As time went by carrying the pain and agony, he found a message:
“I chose to be in pain and agony when sharp nails pierced my hands to atone for your wrongdoings.”
He never got to understand this before but it has all become clear and no longer:
Many ways a lady could’ve ended it but she chose to do it by a phone message“.
He never experienced this before that such peace dwelt within him it made him sing:
Many ways God could’ve ended me but He chose to save me instead by His Son’s message.”

Seek, Know, and Hear

Seek the whisper of the Master
in world where shouting is a norm.
Get to know the Truth about Life
in world where illusion is a truth.
Once you hear Him, Live in holiness
in a world where people will die for happiness.

John 14:6 [English Standard Version]
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Of God and His poet

He is no delusion
Nor mere empty religion.
His presence has more documentation
Than that of their so called evolution.
Jesus, the Son of God’s incarnation
none of Him is or will ever be an illusion.

His story has an explanation
even before the reformation:
Mankind has sinned, it is our dangerous infection
that will lead us to hell, our eternal damnation.
But He who knew no sin carried our condemnation
By the means of Rome’s brutal crucifixion.
After three days, he showed us His resurrection.
“He is risen!” said by those of the salvation.
He brought us near to God in reconciliation
And because of these we are now part of His justification.

Raising my hands in adoration,
I cry out tears of joy knowing I am now in Your possession.
Persecution may come but it cannot remove my election.
Though it hurts I will desire Your sanctification!
And till the end I shall plead in tears for the saints’ glorification!
And once we’re with Him, let us worship and enjoy in the culmination.

Book review [10/10]: Preaching The Cross

“If each is a true Christian teacher, then each has been commissioned by the same master with the same message for the same purpose—glorifying God by proclaiming His reign.”

-Mark E. Dever

It has been of great delight to be saved, what more if God entrusts you to share the same message of His good news (to which all believers are called for) that also saved you. This book has a strong word for what the cross is. It mainly tackles the subjects that has the cross as its root: The life of the messenger (of the Gospel), Justification by faith alone, Glory of the Gospel, and the need to preach Christ regardless of what culture or generation we are in. It is quite hard to rate a book with different authors (as this book is sourced from the 2006 Together for the Gospel conference). The book has authors (some even heroes, for me it’s John Macarthur) sharing their love for the Word of God and how important it is to both have it in mind and in heart. I love how each author considers the other authors, for example: C.J. Mahaney’s chapter solely deals with the quality of character of a messenger of God’s Word and does not focus much about sound doctrine as he himself said “Because the rest of the book aims to equip pastors in sound doctrine, there is little need for me to elaborate on that here”. A book that also reveals a character’s heart makes the book more trustworthy. Aside from that, one expectation has not been met: I didn’t learn a technique how to preach the cross. And I think it is totally great that I didn’t because the message inside this book (which is mostly about the Word, Christ, theology, and culture) is sufficiently enough to teach us what information we need in order to deliver a sound preaching of the cross. I think its more of a “what” to preach, not “how” to preach. I truly believe our methods of preaching may be different but it has to be as sound as the same way Jesus did it, and with this I feel that the authors here tell us “what” to preach is a lot more important than “how” to preach.

Rating: 10/10

I was at first struggling to give it a 10/10 but after wrestling with R.C. Sproul regarding his chapter (Justification by Faith) to which I had a hard time understanding probably due to lack of proper foundation of how I understand the subject given, I finally understood it (after reading it again). But most importantly I gave it a 10/10 as this book may just become my mirror whenever (if ever) God will give me the opportunity to preach His Word.

Will I recommend this?
Absolutely yes! To whom? To all those who are in the Christian faith who want to learn sound doctrine and to those who want to learn how to live as a messenger of God’s Word.
